Learning and growth are not limited to the classroom. Time spent in chapel services also provides an opportunity for key spiritual challenge and growth. Our goal is that students and staff alike find themselves challenged through the ministry of missionaries, pastors, and faculty members.
Church Attendance
Regular Sunday worship services are not conducted on campus so students are expected to select a local church where they will attend regularly during their time at NBC.
Dorm Prayer Meetings
Although time is set aside each week in chapel to pray together as a community, separate prayer meetings are held monthly in each of the men's and ladies' residences. These times are informal and provide an atmosphere conducive to mutual sharing and spiritual growth as fellow students.
Small Groups & Mentoring
Relationships are a major part of the NBC experience. Students are assigned to small group to enhance relationships, to provide more personal interaction with the staff, and to encourage spiritual growth.
Our mentoring program takes the personal dynamic a step further. This optional program involves meeting with a staff member or senior student of your choosing, who will seek to help you in your own pursuit of excellence and spiritual growth.
Youth Retreat
NBC is host to an all-weekend youth retreat each March called 'three60five'. It’s a weekend full of challenging speakers, crazy shenanigans (activities), and pumped up music which is planned and promoted primarily by the students. This is one of many chances for you to use your skills in a practical way.
Ministry Teams
Music or drama and sometimes a bit of both. If this sounds like fun you may be the perfect candidate for a ministry team. These teams travel on behalf of NBC on weekends and during Reading Week each semester.
Student Ministry
Why wait until after graduation to make a difference? Whether you get to be involved in Sunday School, Bible Clubs, youth ministry, visitation, preaching, seniors ministry, music, or drama, you are given an opportunity to put classroom training to use and reach out to others before you ever leave Bible School. It is a blending of the adventure of “real ministry” with the nurturing security of Bible School life.
Missions Teams
Another opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and serve God. Every few years a missions team made up of students and staff is set up to gain a firsthand experience of missions and impact the world for Christ. Teams have gone out to Bolivia, Peru, Bulgaria, Burkino Faso, Japan and most recently, Honduras.
Missions Conference
Ever wondered what it’s really like to be a missionary? How do you know if it is something that God could be calling you to do? NBC’s fall Missions Conference is all about answering those and other questions. Outstanding Bible teachers, missionary displays, and opportunities to pray for and talk with missionaries are just some of the conference features.
Obah Night
Don’t know what “Obah” means? Chances are 90% of the current student body doesn’t either but they do know that Obah Night means goofy costumes, a dinner in the dining hall for the entire campus, games, and a couple hours of open dorms. All of this equals one highly anticipated event. The student council plans a few fun activities like this for the whole student body each semester.
Volunteers are needed to finish the renovation on the Men's Dormitory. The project is still on schedule, but certainly not done yet. We would welcome your help with this project. More ->
OPEN HOUSE & BBQ
We are planning to kick off the new school year by dedicating the newly renovated Men's Dormitory to the Lord. There will be a free BBQ and time to meet the staff and students. More ->
