Current Alumni Projects
Projects the Alumni Association voted to take on Alumni Weekend 2011 in the following order:
- Vinyl covered mattresses - FINISHED!!!
- New windows/doors for campus house #9 (white house closest to gymnasium) - FINISHED!!!
- Replacing original pvc tile flooring in Ed Centre (stairwells, downstairs corridor, bathrooms) - bathrooms FINISHED!!! Corridor and stairwells material purchased and waiting for install
We raised enough money at Alumni Weekend to take on all 3 of these projects! 50 new vinyl covered mattresses were purchased in January, and are ready for use at our big events such as three60five. The Education Centre bathrooms were renovated in Jan/Feb this winter, and we covered the replacement of the flooring for that. The rest of the flooring (for corridor and stairwells) is purchased and waiting for install. House #9 windows/screen doors were replaced/installed in March. Jason & Lindsay Elford (staff who live in #9) have noticed an immediate improvement in warmth and draft elimination compared to the original windows that were in place prior which dated back to the 60's.
Please consider giving towards the Alumni Projects any time over the year. Any remaining funds come next fall will carry forward to the projects voted on at Alumni Weekend 2012 (Nov 23-25), where there will be another vote to determine which projects are taken on for the next year.
