About Praise N' Prayer

Perhaps the biggest impact we can have on the lives of others is through prayer. Please take advantage of those who are willing and ready to intercede on your behalf.

Click here and submit your request. In an effort to keep this list current and relevant all requests will be posted for about 3 months (shorter/longer if it is more or less time specific) before they are removed.

Please visit this page regularly and take time to support your fellow alumni through prayer! Please note, if you have a request you do not want to be posted but would still like prayer for, you can do that anonymously here.

Current Praise N' Prayer List

Praise God for the students He brought to NBC over this 2011/12 school year. Pray for these students as they leave for the summer. Many are searching for jobs, many are working in various ministries over the summer (like camps), and all will have a year of growth to put into practice as they are faced with living out Christ's love each and every day in whatever situations they encounter this summer. Pray for our student body next fall! Pray for a good freshmen class, and for God to move in those students from this past year He'd like to return for yet another.

Please pray for the staff/faculty God has brought to NBC. Praise God for great staff unity over this past year, and pray for the process of hiring a few new staff for next fall, especially for those in the position to make these decisions. There are still 2 or 3 positions that need to be filled for the fall.

Pray that this section of the NBC website can be an effective way for Alumni to stay connected with the college. Pray that it can be a source of encouragement to us as we read Alumni Updates and acknowledge God's continuing hand on our lives, and that it can be a source of strength as we uphold each other in these prayer requests.

Jason Elford - would like prayer in his role with Alumni relations. Pray that he can create effective routines and practices in prayer and support for the Alumni, and succeed in making the Alumni Association as a whole feel more strongly connected with the school. Pray also that the Alumni would respond in overwhelming support and effort to remain connected to and supportive of NBC

Kevin and Melissa Derksen - pray as they are in the process of raising support to join Wycliffe Bible Translators. Pray that God would lead people to them, and themselves to the people God is calling this way. The Derksens are now at over 90% of the support level they need.

Nathan and Natasha Enns - they ask for prayer for continued health (for the 3 of them!), and that they would learn the Indonesian language and culture quickly, along with adjusting well to life there. They'd also like prayer that their support levels will continue to grow over time and they praise God for safety in their travels to this new home and life!

Alumni Executive - led by Alumni President Ryan Jansen, please pray for unity among the team, as they have two new Exec members and a new staff liaison. Pray that God will continue to bless NBC through the volunteer work of the Alumni Executive. The next Alumni Exec meeting will be in May.

Daryl and Denise Rice - pray as they lead youth group at Garrington Community Church (near Olds, AB) and have more non church kids than church kids (which is a praise and prayer request!)"

Kim Adrian - she is very thankful for the new job she began in October 2011 as a preschool teacher. She would like prayer for some concerns she has in this job, and that she is be able to make wise decisions during this new year.

Dan Collins - pray as he spends the last 12 months (of an 18 month course) in training with the Arrow Leadership Program (www.arrowleadership.org). This will include mentoring, internal and external assessment, academic requirements (assignments and papers), modular training, and 4 five-day residentials over the next year and a half. Please pray for the time and financial commitments of this. Also, pray with Dan and Laura as Dan moves on from his youth pastor position in Sault Ste. Marie at the end of June. Pray for wisdom and clear direction from God.

Steven & Penny Enns (2001-04) - praise God for getting their visas just in time to be able to travel to a different island (and a better hospital) of Indonesia for the birth of their 2nd child. They praise God for the birth of their new daughter in February. Pray with them as they adjust to life with 2 kids and for the new setting they will serve in now as they continue with New Tribes Mission.

Bill & Bev McCaskell - pray for good transition in switching from provincial to national CSSM ministry directors. Pray they would have support levels needed for this new position.

Paul Hartman - PRAISE for tremendous physical healing is his mom's body from since she nearly died after being hit by a car in Dec 2010. Pray for more healing and that physical therapy will go well. Pray for Paul as he tries to finish up an M.Div degree and graduate by April 2013.

Wes & Carol Schellenberg - PRAISE for Carol's recent good health and that Wes could complete his accounting certificate. Prayer for them to accomplish office work well and in a timely matter, and for their 2 children to find good jobs this summer.

Lisa Barber - Pray for an increase in support levels. Pray for spiritual growth and her development of leadership and counselling ability as she studies at Tyndale, ministers in her home community, and serves missionaries with International Teams.

Irv & Mari Penner - PRAISE for growth in the local church plant and for their increase in support. Pray for discernment and direction for their family as they plan to serve the people of Mexico, for safety, and for their support levels to raise. Pray for the inmates Irv has met with in prison ministry. Pray about the rest of the support they need to raise, especially now as they are back in Canada on furlough.

Guillermo & Mary-Ann Reddekopp - PRAISE for health, safety, and for great schooling for their kids. Pray for sensitivity and obedience to the Holy Spirit's leading in their ministry at Macha. Guillermo's main role is as pilot, but they have other opportunities in serving missionaries and locals alike.

Mike & Sharlene McDonald - Praise for the miraculous birth of their friends Mirellya and Abelino's twin daughters. Mirellya was told from the beginning of the pregnancy that neither she nor the two girls would survive. Many seeds of belief and faith in Christ have been planted in people's hearts as they saw this pregnancy end with the birth of two healthy baby daughters and Mirellya able to have two other successful surgeries immediately following the c-section. Pray for continued recovery and growing strength.

Kevin & Janice Evans - Pray as they serve with 'The Faith Mission', leading kids clubs in elementary schools, and working with prison ministry and camp ministry. Pray for the camp board to make wise decisions.

Tony & Janet Ens - Pray for their ministry at KeyWayTin Bible Institute, and for their outreach at Heart Lake and the religion class they teach there. Pray for KBI staff adjustments and needs, for God to work in the student's lives, and for Tony in his teaching, and administrative responsibilities. Pray especially for their teenage son Brett as he experiences strong and lasting headaches regularly, and this whole process is quite stretching on their entire family.

Marlene Adrian - PRAISE for how God has provided for her over the past months when she had no official income. Pray for growth in her quite time with God, continued health and strength as she settles back into working for CEF, and for her new role in teacher training.

Peter & Diane Salmond - Pray as they head back to Rwanda for two more years of ministry before being in Canada again. Pray for the project and personal support they still need to raise.

Elizabeth Heinricks ('49) - pray for her children and grandchildren. Most of them are not walking with the Lord.

Brian & Lisa Espenshade ('96) - Prayer for raising their two boys well, aged 6 and 4. Pray about the camp and retreat centre they live and work at year around. Brian seeks direction and staffing for a new day camp ministry starting this summer.

Dave & Marsha Reimer - Pray for balancing work and home life, especially as they undertake major renovations. Pray they can share their home and blessings well in blessing others.

Kevin & Karla Roberts - Their 11 yr old daughter had a brain tumor removed in January. Pray for the recovery process, and for continued strength and healing. Pray for strength and peace for the family and the impact on daily life.

Jason & Anita Boucher - Pray for wisdom in balancing home life with work and ministry life.

Kristin (Elford '97) & Reuben Raney - Pray for good health for their children. Praise for early diagnosing of their son with Kawasaki disease, and pray for full long-term recovery. Pray as they cope with ongoing earthquakes.

Jason & Becky Salmond - Pray for Jason as he balances full-time work with part-time courses at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Pray for Becky and the kids adjusting to this really busy season of life and not seeing Jason as often. Praise God for health, friends, and a great church home.

Jeff Renaud ('01) - Prayer for wisdom in learning to handle finances better, as well as for future direction in employment or education.

Adam Cnossen ('98) - Had surgery to remove malignant tumor in his tongue. Pray for recovery and complete healing. Pray for God's hand of peace and encouragement on the family.
